Waiting while Wading

Last Sunday afternoon Dog and I walked around Elk/Beaver Lake.  We’ve done the 10K loop many times.  This time it was to be first spring walk of the year. The area was just as busy as any other time of year.  Though one would never feel it.  Just see it, pass through it, pass by it – Olympic training rowing club attendees, athletes in training, horse riders, tourists, small sailboat hobbyists, humans and dogs.  Many happily sniffing and walking on  the muddy trails.  Dogs, that is.  I was curious to see what spring looked liked around the lake.

This year with the heavy rains, the wet, dull winter, the water was high.

During one of Dog’s ‘bark, bark, I’m going to catch you bird” games, I would have waited for him on this bench. But, I left my rubber boots at home.
